Personalised search is quickly becoming increasingly important, since major search engines fight to give every user the optimal personal experience.

However, Microsoft’s latest personalisation twist intends to give Bing users a different experience. Instead of showing search results based on previous habits it will allow users to search with Bing as their favourite idols, friends or symbolic groups.

For instance, if you want to search Bing like Jenifer Lopes – it might soon be possible. Perhaps Bing will show you fancy dresses, the latest music videos or Latina hair styling products.

Last week, Microsoft was granted to develop their search method based on a patent called “Applying a model of a persona to search results“.

How far they have come with persona search profiles and if it will ever go live is yet to be discovered.

SEO Specialist finds this patent very innovative and expects it could be highly popular among teenagers if Bing succeeds to bring it to market. Hopefully, Bing makes it go live next year.
